No. Discover Scuba Diving is specifically designed for complete beginners who have never tried scuba diving before. Your certified instructor will explain the basic theory, teach you the essential skills in shallow water, and stay with you throughout the entire experience. No certification or previous training is required.

Do I need to know how to swim?

Yes. While you don't need to be an expert swimmer, you should feel comfortable in the water and be able to swim. Basic swimming ability helps you feel more relaxed and confident during the experience. If you're unsure, please let us know before booking so we can advise you accordingly.

How deep will we dive?

Most Discover Scuba Diving experiences are conducted at a maximum depth of 12 metres (40 feet), following international PADI safety standards. Your instructor will carefully monitor your comfort level throughout the dive and adjust the experience if necessary.

Will the instructor stay with me underwater?

Absolutely. Your instructor will remain beside you throughout both dives, providing guidance, monitoring your safety, and helping you enjoy the experience with confidence. Small group sizes ensure every participant receives personal attention.

What marine life can I expect to see?

The waters around Koh Phangan are home to colorful coral reefs, butterflyfish, angelfish, parrotfish, moray eels, nudibranchs, and many other tropical marine species. Every dive is different, making each underwater adventure unique. While larger marine animals occasionally appear, wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.

Is all diving equipment included?

Yes. Your Discover Scuba Diving package includes high-quality scuba equipment, including mask, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device (BCD), wetsuit (when needed), tanks, and weights. All equipment is professionally maintained and prepared by the dive center before your trip.

Can children participate?

Yes. Children aged 10 years and older can join the Discover Scuba Diving program, provided they meet the minimum age requirements and complete the necessary medical questionnaire. A certified instructor will ensure the experience is suitable and enjoyable for younger participants.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Your safety always comes first. If sea conditions are unsuitable, the dive center may choose an alternative dive site, postpone the departure, or reschedule the activity. Our team monitors weather forecasts closely and will contact you if any changes are required.

Can I continue to the PADI Open Water Course afterwards?

Absolutely. Many divers begin with Discover Scuba Diving before deciding to become certified. If you enjoy your first underwater experience, your instructor can explain how to continue with the PADI Open Water Diver Course, allowing you to dive independently around the world.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. We recommend booking your Discover Scuba Diving experience as early as possible, especially during the high season from December to April. Group sizes are intentionally kept small to provide individual attention and maximize safety, so availability can become limited.

No previous scuba diving experience is required.
Participants must be at least 10 years old.
You should be comfortable in the water and able to swim.
A medical questionnaire must be completed before diving.
Flying within 18–24 hours after diving is not recommended.
Dive sites may change depending on weather and sea conditions.
Your instructor will remain with you throughout every dive.
